This is an amazing video! We can do anything if we put our mind to it.

Biggest Winner Competition

This year I have decided to work on being healthier and getting into shape. BYU-Idaho has this awesome program called the Biggest Winner. It is pretty much the same thing as the Biggest Loser, but not as intense and the trainers do not yell in our faces. Yesterday was my first workout of this program. Even though it was difficult and  tiring, I am ready for my workout again today. My team consists of a personal trainer, a wellness coach, an assistant, and 9 contestants. I am extremely excited for this opportunity and for the chance to change my life for the better. My short term goal for this semester is to lose 20 pounds and my long term goal is to lose 50 pounds. I can't wait to see a difference not only in my appearance, but also in my attitude. I plan on posting on here everyday what I have done at my workout, to hopefully inspire others the same way that I have been inspired to get off the coach, and treat my body better! I will also be using my blog as part of my journal so that I can remember this experience forever.

January 20th, 2014 Workout:

 - Row 1000 meters on the rowing machine
- 0.5 miles on the treadmill, at an incline of 3, speed of 3.5
- Crunches while sitting on a large exercise ball, while holding a 15 pound weight
- 15  burpees at a time
- Super man, ten times and holding for 5 seconds.
- Continuous rotation, switching between crunches, burpees, and superman for 15 minutes
- Squats: Arms at a 90 degree angle, and arms straight above head
- Hip stretches
- Shoulder Stretches.

Happy Sunday

Happy Sunday!!

Church was great today. Amazing speakers in church. They spoke on Faith, Repentance, and Prayer. Then we had a pretty good sunday school lesson, and the teacher shared this video: http://youtu.be/27A4Fj4YBeM . You are Never alone was the message! If you have time, you should definately read it. We then had a lesson on journal writing in Relief Society. Some of the ideas were to keep a study journal, a picture scrapbook, a blog, or a book. I think this blog will work for me right now.
We also had the chance to be assigned visiting teaching companions and found out who we would be teaching! Lucky for me, I already knew my companions and one of the girls that we teach. We also got to meet our home teachers at a luncheon after church. They seem like really fun guys!
Today is my roommate, Lindey's birthday!! We celebrated with funfetti cupcakes and tonight we are going to have enchaladas and cake at her family friends house! yumm!!
I have two big tests to take by Tuesday and I keep pushing it out of my mind, so I better get back to that. Wish me luck!
Until next time!! :)

Update

Hello world!
I'm finally back and writing a post. It is about time. I plan on making my blog cute and add pictures and stuff, but it might be a while before I figure out how to do that :).

A little update on my life:
- I'm currently taking 15 credits. After an easy first semester, I was hoping on just relaxing this semester, well I was wrong. These classes are very time consuming.
- This semester (socially) is way better! My roommates are so easy to talk to and I love not having contention in our apartment.
- My new bishop is hilarious. & so far I love my ward.
- Awesome FHE group. It helps being with a few people you already knew before.
- Got a calling. I am a committee member for relief society.
- I have done something pretty much every weekend this semester!
- Last night, I attended a Celtic Knights concert, it was amazing! Normally I hate those kind of things but they were incredible.
- After the concert I played basketball with a friend and ended the night, sitting around and laughing with my roommates. Didn't go to bed until wayyyyy late!
- Today, I went with Haley to her cousins house, played with her adorable baby, got a facial, and played a few games.
- Came home, and had a girl's night out, went to Sammy's and sang Happy Birthday to my roommate Lindey as we were walking home. Fun stuff!!
- Finished a little bit of homework, listened to amazing songs by Tyler Ward.
- Enjoyed sour punch straws my family sent in a package for Valentines Day for me. ( Yes, I couldn't wait to open it.) It also consisted of cute Valentine's day socks, candy, the movie 27 dresses, and valentine's for my roommates! I have the BEST family in the ENTIRE world!!

So I just made a goal, I will write in my blog everyday for this whole week, and hopefully it will become a habit & can count as my journal writing :)

Until next time!!! :)

Random

Today we had stake conference. We had the pleasure of having Elder Maynes and Elder Webb from the quorums of the seventy with us this weekend for last nights session and today. Last night coming home, we practically walked through a blizzard. It was so windy my hat wouldnt even stay on. And this is only the beginning! Can't wait to see what comes next. Our stake presidency was released and we sustained a new one. It was amazing to hear the old and the new one's testimonies.
Let's see what else did I do today? I watched a Hallmark Christmas Movie and did some homework. Video Chatted with my dad and family for about an hour. He bought our plan tickets home!! 36 Days!!! I am extremely excited as you can't tell by the countdown. I will only be home two weeks and then have to be away for another four months. But it will all be worth it in the end.
My friends/ neighbors put up a Christmas tree today. I'm a little jealous but it makes me even more excited for Christmas time. I have been listening to Christmas music pretty much this entire week.
This past week was pretty hectic with a million tests, but i somehow managed to stay alive. Oh... and it snowed yesterday. I would say about 4 inches. I luckily did not fall. But somehow I know that is coming in the next few weeks.
This week I will finish writing my persuasive essay, take a math test, science test, and study my heart out for my psychology test to make up for how poorly I did on my last test.
My goal this week is to write in my journal or my blog everyday and to read my scriptures for at least five minutes a night! That will be a challenge but I will try my best to get it done and make it a habit!!
I also need to redo my blog and make it cute and add pictures.
Until next time :)

Amazing Day

First off, church was amazing today!!
Usually I get all bored during fast and testimony meeting but this day was different. I felt the spirit so strongly as soon as we starting singing the opening song which was How Great Thou Art. Awesome song. I then was able to hear the testimonies of those in my ward. Pretty much all the girls in my FHE family bore their testimonies and it made me love them even more. We were challanged by one young man to reread the first vision of Joseph Smith and to get down on our knees and to prayer to our Heavenly Father to know that this is true. We were also invited to thank Heavenly Father for all that we have. One sister shared a quote that read, " what if you woke up one morning and could only have the things that you thanked Heavenly Father for the night before?" It made me realize that I should be more grateful for the things that I have, both little and big. We then had a good sunday school lesson taught by one of my FHE sisters. It was on pure religion, and it was great lesson and from it I took that we should be "slow to speak, and swift to listen." We then ended the block of meetings with get to you know games in relief society. It was great to learn more about the people that are around me in my every day life. After church I got set apart as a Family History Ward Indexer. So far I love the calling!!
Oh, and HAPPY 15th Birthday to my sister Danielle!! Hope your day is awesome. Wish I could be there to help celebrate.
Tonight we are having our home teachers, and a friend over for dinner. Should be really fun to get to know them better!!
I am extremely grateful for this gospel and for all that it brings into my life. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a true prophet of God and that he speaks the truth and we should heed to his counsel. I have a testimony of the power of the Priesthood, I have seen it work miracles in my life as well as in the lives of those around me. I have a testimony that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God and that ever since I have been studying it this semester, it has strengthened my testimony of this restored gospel. I know that Patriarchal Blessings are and can be a road map for our lives and that by following it, we will be able to return to our Father in Heaven.
I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
- As you can see so far my day has been great and I hope to be able to continue writing in my blog on a weekly basis if not on a daily basis.
Have a GREAT day and Week!!!! :)

It's been a while

I have been so busy I haven't had time to blog. Here is a recap on what has happened since June. I graduated from seminary and from High School. I'll add pictures later. I continue to work, watching two of the cutest boys I know :) and will work until the end of August. Then comes SCHOOL!! I can't wait. Everytime I think about it, I get more and more excited. I can't wait to meet my room mates as well. I have talked to two of them so far and they seem like great girls. My sister went and checked out the outside of my dorms the other night, and she sent me a picture which made me even more EXCITED!! I registered for classes almost a month ago and these are the classes I will be taking: psychology, math 108, Book of Mormon, Child Development, FDSCI101, and FDENG101. I will have a pretty crammed schedule but I know it will totally be worth it in the end. I also can't wait to get up to Idaho to spend time with my sister and brother-in law.
